I took 2 lessons from a crappy teacher, but once they found out I already knew the basics of how to play, they asked me to bring CDs in and he'd teach me how to play the songs. So I've got a bad view of music teachers. I say find music you love and learn to play it. If you keep at it, the pieces will fall into place.
