And I found out that my sister's music theory professor has a Harpsichord in his office and that if I begged enough I could get him to let me play it.
(MWHWHWHWHWHWHWHWHWHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!)
*cough cough* ahem.

LMAO dude then just buy it from him! if he never plays it, of course.
I've learned these wise rules for purchasing an instrument:
-always test it by trying to completely destroy it
-make shure it's worth the crapload of cash you're asbout to give the nice person(or guitar center)
- always trade in your sh*tty instrument. more cash :)

No such luck.
He uses it to teach lessons.
But I can still play it. (AND I don't have to waste any time learning to play it. It's set up like a piano/organ. CHA!)

i really wasn't exaggerating when i said a harpsichord generally sells for as much as a new car. :p:

the cheapest one i've seen for sale online was $15 000, average was about $20 000.

Hmmm.. Here's one for 300 dollars OBO.
Harpsichord for sale - $300 or best offer (Photos)

Although already sold, and not in the best condition, I wouldn't suspect I'd let anything go for that cheap if I actually paid 20K for it.

yeah but if there's one thing i've learned is that when someone says 'needs work' upfront in a classified ad they really mean 'this thing is ultra busted' heheh
