What about websites where the owners don't capitalize anything?

same thing applies.

I'm not a fan of Strats either but it is a good place to start. I hate to rain on anyone's parade but its on topic... an extremely talented guitar builder friend of mine told me of how Mexican Strats are better in his opinion than Americans despite the huge price difference. Apparently the parts on both are exactly the same and the Mexicans are just built slightly better. This is obviously up for debate but if my friend is right then that's a bummer for anyone who payed the extra money for it to say "built in America."

I just recently spent almost all my money on a '63 Gibson MelodyMaker. It's the most simple guitar in the world. One pick-up, one tone knob, one volume knob, one solid piece of wood for the body. It's a dream come true and it has the perfect sound for what I do. I couldn't be happier.

initially this was true, especially in the early 90s when fender first started making guitars in mexico. i remember reading an article about serial numbers that would denote a mexican guitar made with american parts, something like MA for the first two letters instead of MN. can't find the article anymore though.

i won't get rid of my mexican but i won't fool myself into thinking it's better than my friend's american. the difference in price vs. quality does seem excessive though. especially considering you can almost get two mexicans for the price of one american.

the feedback from other people doesn't matter much. as long as you like the guitar and you are satisfied. because everyone has their own personal opinion and style. to each his own.

Pretty sure this is spam promoting a website.
