Guitars made in Asia
Like anything else in the states, guitars mostly come from Asia. I own 2 made in Korea. Since a guitar is a somewhat delicately made and shaped instrument, how much damage can be done to one that was made in Asia and transported to the States?
One problem is the dampness and moisture of Asia. The wood is very damp, and will warp once it is in a dry place. I've heard of people taking their guitars to places like Utah and Nevada and the necks would warp immediately.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you asking a question or making a statement?

if the dampness and moisture from asia was going to affect the build of your guitar it would be warped and messed up upon arrival into north america.
while it's possible for a neck to get warped it's generally due to extreme variations in temperature and/or neglect (not necessarily intentional). consider how most people move guitars from point A to point B, being left inside a sealed black case inside a sealed trunk. ever sit in a car without a/c in a parking lot on a hot day in july? and that's with the window down... now consider the temperature inside a case inside the trunk... can you say homemade oven? |

i think honestly that just listening to both answer and question here that in my honest opinon it would make no sense to get something that will inevitably be a problem.

Also, yes, the vast majority of guitars are made in either korea, indonesia, or japan. Many high end boutique makers are japanese, Ibanez are japanese too. Cort Guitars are Korean, and Cort also happen to be the ghostbuilders for a VERY large number of guitar companies, including many Ibanez, LTD, and other models. (Or at least, they WERE. Cort has apparently closed their doors now) Ibanez and LTD at the very least have also had a long history of exporting work to indonesia for their lower end models. I believe since the closure of Cort, Ibanez have in fact moved many of the models that WERE being produced in korea, over to indonesian facilities. There are also many high quality builders all over the world, in places you wouldn't expect. Shamray Customs for example, are russian, and frequently touted as the best thing since sliced bread in terms of both quality and range of options. Jaden Rose builds guitar parts and complete guitars in the United Kingdom, and Ernie, from E.T. Guitars, builds and sells from australia. But in terms of sheer VOLUME of guitars made per region, Asian countries make numbers WELL in excess of ANY other region. Not to mention the sheer number of fake chinese Ibanez that are out there.
