Default My Bass

Ok so I've recently takin apon myself the task of learnin bass guitar. So one day I walked into my local shop found a bass and bought it and havn't look back since. It's a Peavey Milestone BXP and in my opinion it has a very jazzy/funk sound, which is perfect. Was just wondering if anyone has opinion on the bass itself, or if anyone has any pointers haha.

nice. a friend of mine had an old red peavey bass. can't remember the name at the moment. seems like the milestone is the replacement though. i remember it having a narrow neck, and a maple fretboard. it played fast and kicked ass hehe.

this is mine, it's a samick.

Do I see a fretless bass?

This is the bass I'm thinking of buying for 300 dollars, just for the novelty of it:

indeed, and a 5 string to boot hehe. one of the first tunes i figured out on it is your user name too i had mostly figured out 'kaini industries' at one point as well.

that acoustic looks pretty nice.

as for the case in my pic, it's definitely a situation where the low quality photo makes it look better than it really is hehe. the lining is coming apart around some edges and the handle is REALLY loose. come to think of it i haven't seen many blue lined cases though.

I tried learning Roygbiv on my cheap four string slow-as-hell fretted bass. I instead chose to learn Summer Babe (Winter Version) by Pavement and I Zimbra by The Talking Heads because that's what this bass needs, slow bass lines and such.

Though I'm aiming for a fretless one day. They're mighty expensive, however.

i got mine for $500 at one of the sketchiest pawn shops in town hahaha

here's the basic gist of the line for roygbiv there are slight variations throughout. i get to play it an octave lower because of my B string hehehe

G-----------7-------------------5------------5----9-------
D---------------9-7-(5)----7~~--------7~~----7----9~~--
A--9~~--(9)------------------------5~--------------------
