I used to look at Ibanez RBX100s and 150s when I was younger and the whole Nu-Metal scene was blowing up. They're cheap: around $100-$200.

Squier by Fender is a little bit more pricey depending on what your looking for. $100-$300

But if you want seriously cheap, go with Rogue. I've never played one, so I can't tell you if they're any good or not. I guess it just depends on how well you treat it (just like any other instrument). $99-$200 ($200 fret-less 6 string, wha?)

A guy I work with bought a bass on THIS PAGE... he LOVES it. I bought a guitar from this site (as Mr. Dave knows) and I enjoyed it as well. Good, cheap stuff... and it stays in tune :)

yeah the cash isn't really the issue. it's the fact that all my guitars have been collecting dust for the last year so. i really can't justify spending more money on another instrument until i actually start using the ones i've already got hehe.

ahhh... that's a whole different issue. I actually sold one of my guitars because I wasn't playing it enough to justify owning it as it was a $2000 guitar.

i've thought of that quite a bit over the last year too (last one i picked up was $1500). i've only ever sold gear once - back in 1995 - to help offset the cost of my first 'serious' guitar (mexican strat). i just can't get over the feeling that i'll end up regretting selling gear later on, like someday i'll be in a situation where that one piece would make or break everything.

that's a bummer that you mentioned both but the issue wasn't properly addressed. at this point though it's been over a month since you mentioned it here, and i have no clue on how long it's actually been since you were at the store.

you didn't seem that bothered by it initially so maybe just chalk it up to a learning experience. when you bring something in to get serviced try it out as soon as you pick it up (in store) and call them out on it if it's not done right. at this point it's getting to be a little late for proper resolution.

yes, you will regret it... I do. It was a Custom shop strat and played like a dream. I got it for $1500 cheaper then it was going for as it was used but it was in excellent condition and came with the sweet case and the certificate of authenticity stating it was the only one of its kind in the world. Do I wish I still had it... not right now, but I do wish I could have kept it (for collective purposes) and found other ways of coming up with the cash at the time.
