Chandler San Francisco (Guitars, cheap)

Does anyone know anything about their guitars? I ran across a really really sweet knockoff of an Explorer in a guitar shop the other day. 800 bucks. Amazing neck, great pickups, and the whole thing played really nicely. But some of the hardware was kind of cheap. On the bridge and tailpiece there was lots of green corrosion which my grandpa (some crazy engineer guy....both my dad and grandpa are scientists...dont get how they like it so much personally) said was because the hardware was poorly made. Basically they had put Chrome to Copper or Brass or something instead of putting Nickel inbetween. The point is the thing played amazingly and I'm really tempted to buy it, since I have the money. Anyone know anything about the guitars?
