Thinking of getting a Tokai Fv40 Flying V

So I've been looking at getting another guitar and like the look of the Tokai flying V but wanted to see what you all thought of it first.

It's going to be my second guitar and I want one that can play something from blues to hardrock effectively. If you have any suggestions go ahead.

Nice, they look and play great but Vs are a pain in the arse to play around the house, they are really only good live/standing up all the freakin' time.

well, there's all of 1 tokai flying V on ebay. they're also asking just shy of 300 GBPs for it as the starting bid. an epiphone flying V will look identical and cost you less and will be far easier to find for sale.

what's your main guitar?

as FiC also stated, Vs are quite literally a pain to play around the house. if you never plan on sitting down or you're just trying to get a cool looking backup guitar for gigs then whatever do it up. otherwise you might want to consider other less pointy options.

My main guitar's a Stagg g300. I'd be using it as a looking cool guitar and use my g300 for sitting around and playing.

I'm also looking at getting an Ibanez AR200, I'm a lefty player you see so I plan to restring a right handed guitar, so it'd have to be a double cut.

Thanks for the info on epiphones, I'll have to check that out.:)

well, the classic gibson V shape that tokai and epiphone offer at a significantly reduced price definitely looks cool. the SG style g300 also looks quite nice.

seems like you're setting yourself up to have a gibson styled roster without ever having to pay for the big G name and playing their quality control lottery hehe :thumb:

the ibanez ar200 looks really nice too but i'll let guitar bizarre tell you about that one. hehehe
