Hello MusicB, hope I'm putting this in the right area. I bought a new songbook for my saxophone, and came across a strange not I'd never seen before, and was wondering if someone could help me out.
The one in the attachments. Anybody have any ideas? Cheers. |
Its an acciacatura, also known as a grace note. You play the small, struck through note very quickly just before you play the note thats full size after it.
think of it like playing a hemidemisemiquaver before a breve. YOu play one note as quickly as possible before the second. The difference is that the second note lands on its notated beat, as opposed to just after it. |
^^
You beat me to it ;) No seriously-good one. I was looking on the net for them but I don't know sht about reading music. |
Thanks for the relpy's guys. That's great to know.
