Default I need help from actual musicians . . . PLEASE

Okay, so this is probably the weirdest request you'll ever see, but I'm a writer (actually make a living out of it! lol ) and I desperately need your help.

I'm writing a book about a character who sings. It's extremely difficult to convey this on paper and it's really kicking my butt at the moment. If I listen to a song, I can get it in my head just right; on paper, not so much.

Here's my problem. I think it would help to describe the scene if I actually understood what's going on. For example, if it's a guitar riff vs a different guitar action (forgive my ignorance here; you can see why this is so difficult for me.)

The song (blush) is actually a cover of Tool's Sober. If I tell you at which point in the song I'm having a problem with (like 1 minute 14 seconds, etc) can you help me figure out what is actually happening in the song -- i.e. what chord, etc?

Weird request, I know, but ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
