Where do i put my capo?

when im not using it where the hell do i put it, it looks *** attached to the headstock of my strat so i usually just leave it on my amp.. but its a pain to have to pick it up and stuff.. where do u guys leave yours?

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 04-03-2008 08:35 PM

on my ****

sleepy jack 04-03-2008 08:36 PM

Seriously? Just attach it to the headstock it's not like people look at it and go "Oh how retarded, a capo!" It's just normal for it to be there.

Rubberchicken 04-03-2008 08:42 PM

Clip it on your nose that way you won't be able to smell your stinky horrible guitar playing?

TheCaster 04-03-2008 09:03 PM

:'( i got ass raped with words

it annoys me how awkward it loooks tho.. :'(

mr dave 04-03-2008 09:03 PM

why do you have to use a capo mid song? otherwise you're quite possibly the laziest guitar player ever.

i don't use a capo but if i did i'd leave it on top of the amp.

:( the lead guitar switches back and forth in a song in the set and theyre tuned differently... we only have one guitarist

mr dave 04-03-2008 10:08 PM

weird. there's no way to transpose the lead to work without a capo? and how do you get an alternate tuning with a capo?

Rubberchicken 04-03-2008 10:15 PM

mr dave 04-04-2008 09:41 AM

yeah, a double neck is really the only way to mimick 2 guitars with 2 tunings at once. and still, the majority of times double necks have the same tuning only one is a 12 string.

unless you have one of those custom leo kottke partial capos that only drop on certain strings you're not changing the tuning so much as changing the key. the relative difference in pitch between the strings is still the same.

i don't mean to be a jackass here, but there has to be an easier way than a mid tune capo. just what song are you guys trying to cover?

spook 06-20-2008 01:21 PM

Put It In The Bin!!

Kognitiva 06-22-2008 05:32 AM

This is a really interesting question. I'm always having this discussion with my friends. We all came to the conclusion that the best place to put it when not using it was either the headstock of the guitar or the mic stand. It's really a matter of what you like better as an individual.

jabbyflappywalrus 06-23-2008 09:08 AM

I think cappos are great. Such an easy was to make a drastic change to your sound -

Whatsitoosit 06-23-2008 10:37 AM

It's a ****ing clip... put it wherever the hell you want to

next thread: where do I put my gum when I am not quite done with it but am too tired of chewing it.

(btw, I've lost a few capos in my time so maybe I should read through this thread a bit more carefully instead of being a prick ;))

ashtray 06-23-2008 12:46 PM

I hear a joke about this once.
Why do guitarists leave their capo on the dashboard?
So they can park in the handicap spaces.
I said it was probably a drummer joke. Just change capo for drumsticks.

Whatsitoosit 06-23-2008 02:12 PM

That's a ****ty joke.

What did the drummer get on his I.Q test?
Drool.

Whatsitoosit 06-23-2008 02:29 PM

I don't have one... and it appears you don't either.

I'm gonna make one up right now for you...

What did the bad joke say to the audience member?
"sorry for wasting your time, now go **** yourself"

how was that?

Well it sucked donkey nuts but I didn't expect much from you. I mean dude it had nothing to do with music even.
You probably don't know your A from your E when it comes to music.
EDIT : I thought there was some kind of new rule to flaming so I hope I aint breakin' it just having some fun here.

Whatsitoosit 06-23-2008 07:03 PM

looks like we have something in common then, we both suck at jokes.

Doesn't A come after E... or is it the other way around?

Yes A comes after E. (googling alphabet)

spook 07-18-2008 08:04 AM

Bet I'm worse!

How can you tell a drummer's sitting up straight?

The drool runs down both sides of his chin!:bonkhead:

Whatsitoosit 07-18-2008 10:28 AM

Either that joke was too complex for me or it was really REALLY BAD!!! somebody please explain it to me please :)

lucifer_sam 07-18-2008 12:15 PM

This is the stupidest fucking thread ever. Ican't believe I wasted ten seconds looking at it.

Whatsitoosit 07-21-2008 08:19 AM

i bet it was longer then 10 seconds... it's ok, for the CAPO it's worth it.

TheCaster 07-21-2008 09:34 AM

It was originally a joke :)

i put it on the headstock

Whatsitoosit 07-21-2008 10:02 AM

My sentiments exactly.

bex0r 07-25-2008 07:21 PM

you can get a special capo grip that attached to the topside of your guitar... just like those funky pick houses with the doublestick adhesive?

try your local music shop or an online music store.
