Holy Sh*t
duuuude my guitar is picking up radio stations... i thought i was hearing things when i was playing then i turned the volume on my guitar down all the way and some lady was preaching.... and i turned the amp off and the preaching stopped... yes i tried seeing if it was a prank by swelling the volume on the amp rapidly....
im guessing my strings are an antenea because it only works when its pointing in a certain direction. this ever happened to you? and how can i stop it because its reallly pissing me of... SAVE ME FROM THE GOSPEL CHOIR!!!! |

im like 6 miles from an airport.. but why gospel music... and my amp blares whenever i turn on a light switch or unplug my radio(another theory) so i think its possessed through my amp
Thats happened to me, only I was hearing things from a walkie-talkie that was hidden in my room! It was so freakin creepy until I found out what was making the noise.
Ha, my trumpet has never done that before;). Really though, thats actually quite funny. If it were me I would try playing along with the gospel choir.. Add some real soul :pimp:
hah, its kind of hard to play along with a choir...

Yep, this has happened to me too. I used to pick up Cards games when I lived near St. Louis. Kinda neat.
I've honestly never had that happen to me, but it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie :/
You just rock so hard that it goes away.
I dont play guitar, wonder if my harmonica can pick up radio, ill check...
it's not that uncommon. it's just that the guitar IS acting like an antenna and where the signal from the guitar to the amp isn't shielded the radio comes through. there are a few easy fixes.
1 - high end patch cables. they're almost twice the price of regular cables but they're shielded and should eliminate a significant amount of interference (not just radio but hiss from other electronic devices) 2 - aluminum foil. put a bunch of it around the input jack and the end of your patch cable to shield it from the radio signals. it's the same principle as the tin foil hats for crazy paranoid conspiracy theorists but in this case it actually works and doesn't make you seem a few notches past insane. although sometimes getting the radio to play through the amp works well - especially with a delay and flanger haha |
That happened on the Brady Bunch too...
My amp did that. It picked up an opera radio station one time and a Mexican radio station another time. It think my pedal is the reason

but yeah, like mr. dave said, the guitar could act as an antenna. hell i heard of kids getting radio signals through their braces, maybe that's not so different |
Does your amp have a polarity switch?
This happens to me too! I tried that aluminum foil thing and it works pretty well.
Yeh my amp does the same thing when my cell rings. It just picking up radio signles... Its a little weird that it comes as strong as you say it does...
I picked up a football game one time, for some weird reason I thought it was two-way. Unfortunately, its friggin impossible.
