What instrument should I play???
I am 20 years old, I've never played a single musical instrument in my life. I've never been much of a singer either. Recently I got the inspiration to attempt to bring music into my life. I want to play a really beautiful instrument and play beautiful music, I just have no idea what to play. I'd appreciate any suggestions, I just wanted to know what others thought?

The piano is great for classical, acoustic guitar can touch lightly on classical aswell. Rock I'd say acoustic or electric guitar. Jazz I'd say sax. If you're intrested in joining an ameture orchestra I'd any brass or woodwind.

There are too many guitarists with very few bringing anything new to the table. It's the age of the bassist!
Seriously though, it's something you should probably decide for yourself. I've played bass for a few years now but I want to go back and play piano again because: a.) I used to play b.) Polyphonic ability. c.) I have a desire to do lead style composing as well as background. d.) I've recently been feeling very inspired by game soundtracks, Herbie Hanc0ck and Arcturus. :D |
Trumpet! They get difficult when you get into the higher levels but they are very easy (compared to other instruments) to jump into, however you will need help getting past where you start.

it really depends on ur personality
guitar is for ppl who like to show off their crazy skillz bass is for more laid back chilled ppl and yea every instrument has its own "vibe" |
I would pick bass, but the main things is pick something up and PLAY

I think you should probably get a keyboard or something like that. Its not hard to jump into and its easy to make your own tunes on it :)

It depends on what kind of music your into. Because really, any instrument can be beautiful depending on who is listening. For a beginner, I would reconmend the piano because that is the easiest instument to learn. If piano is not your thing, guitar would be good. Another easy one would probably be the saxophone (alto perferably). These are just a few suggestion.
Oh and a big tip: dont start with a violin or anything similar. Sure, they make very beautiful music, I admit that but it will take forever to actually get a good sound out of them. That why most players start off at a early age (5-6 years latest) |
Classical guitar.
