Actually no. Too much weight or density in the wood, and the guitar no longer resonates as well. This is why acrylic guitars weigh a whole lot but sound like ****.

They sustain forever though.

Also, am I going completely insane or is your username ACTUALLY 'Black People Are Cool'?

Because if it is, I have to admit I've never seen anyone name themselves anything quite so lame before.

black people are very cool! at least the old bluesmen and jazz guys are.

but to name yourself saying that black people are cool is so incredibly lame i cant even begin to imagine what could possibly go on through your brain mr black people are cool.

and heavier doesnt equal better tone. good pups, hardware, and a good amp equal better tone. when it comes down to it nowdays wood really doesnt mean ****! i've gotten my SG to sound like a strat before by tweaking a fender frontman.

Halfa has forgotten more about guitars than someone as arrogant and idiotic as you will ever know. As for me?

Well, in terms of my knowledge compared to the level of understanding you've displayed since joining...you may as well call me your God. Mr. Dave too, since he's a clever mother****er.

bullshat! i may only be 17, but i've screwed around with so much gear at this point i know my **** about guitars. Hardware + amps + other filters = tone. not wood. wood made a difference at one time, but not anymore. Thats why Dave Murray gets such a ridiculously metal tone on a strat. Its also why Jimmy Paige can get a really thin tone OR a really thick tone using a LP.

Wood matters not my friend. With the right filters i can make my Ibanez Artcore sound friggin METAL and BRUTAL and it is SO not made for that.

Plus, there are plenty of aspects about tone that are all in the way your fingers move. I will always sound like me no matter what guitar i use. its as simple as that.

does that mean i get to be the devil or is it more of an alpha / omega thing :D

and just to be somewhat on topic i've been eyeballing one of these for a while now. just can't justify another guitar until i get another jam room.
