My thirty year old Ibanez. I think it's older than that actually. My dad got it at an auction about two decades ago and handed it down to me. If you know anything about guitars then you know that the sound gets better with age because of the wood.

I've been playing guitars for five years and sadly I don't know how to reply to that question... All I know is that there's a big Ibanez logo where the tuning pegs are. If you can let me know how to locate the model, then I will gladly let you know what model it is.

It's an acoustic and it's a goldish color with a decorative piece under the hole that the sound resonates from.

Serial NO. - 83041629H

You're missing a digit from the front of that serial... there should be a letter there denoting factory.

Other than that, your guitar was made in 1983. I can't identify it further without a picture at least though...if at all.

Also, the thing about age with guitars...thats only true in a practical sense on acoustics.

On solid bodies because theres so much more wood there, the process is infinitely slower. You get much more softening and aging of tone from the magnets in the pickups weakening, the frets wearing over time, and the hardware like the nut being used over time than from the wood. (Although certain types of magnet don't age. Any alnico type magnets will, but ceramics age much slower.)
