I'm lefty, wanna play with righty guitar? (house, hendrix, quote)

I have played drums for about 8 years or so, and not to brag (but gotten pretty good), i am just tired of the inconvenience of them. I have a acoustic guitar at my house, but its the normal kind for right handed people. Is it ok to learn holding it the other way, with highest string facing up?

Basically can i play i right handed guitar on left.? Or will that mess everything up?

I really want to learn, i just dont want to have to spend money on another guitar.

Or you could restring it.

So if i take my friends right handed electric one, and have it restrung the opposite way for me, itll work?

Just my crazy idea. Just proceed to learn with your right hand so as to have the opportunity to train left side of your brain. It just a matter of getting used to it. I am a "righty" but I learnt to use left hand (just for fun)to do some of the things. Now, I hold toothbrush with my left hand by default. I can write with left hand with readable handwriting.

The only regret is, I'm not being smarter by using both side of my brain...

Actually, I'm no guitar expert, I play the piano, but the string tightness on a guitar changes the pitch, the tighter the string, the higher the pitch. So if you totally twist the tuner-thingies, technically, you get the right notes and it would be the left way round.

At least that's what I think.
