Dude, I ****ing love you... oh, and props on liking Cursive too.

Besides that, there's loads of folks saying things like, "I'm a Strat Guy" or I love my Les Paul". As far as I know they are both models of guitars as well and not BRANDS as you say.

relax hehe most of the posters who answer like that aren't posters anymore.

but i agree that they're foolish statements to make hehe.

either way, i still like talking about guitars and when i look around i see more les paul shapes than anything else. but no gibsons haha. there's something about the shape that draws me to it, but it's still my beat to hell '94 mexican strat that feels just right. it's what it is.

there's also something about the fender jaguar and jazzmaster shapes that does it for me too although i've never had the chance to really play one. still kicking myself in the butt for not picking up a cheap knockoff of one a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'd kill for a good silverburst les paul, I really would but it's hard to find a good guitar made by gibson as the work can be shotty. My guitar teacher has ordered and sent back two silverbursts already, and he's already been looking at the epiphone version and he's said the quality for the epiphones is shitloads better when compared to the gibsons.

These are fucking gibsons man so what's the deal? Are they just hiring drunks to build the guitars at the factory now or does gibson want to fuck over every loyal customer the've ever had?

I'd also like to get a vox virage guitar too... those like niiice

mr dave 04-02-2010 03:06 AM

it's not that i think gibson's are bad guitars per se. just that i've never had that much disposable income to put on one of their instruments haha. i'm more of a quantity over quality guy when it comes to my gear. there are exceptions but the 'might as well be no name' cheapies have their place too hehe

Farfisa 04-02-2010 06:50 PM

I was just talking about the quality control, it's horrible. My guitar teacher got his third "custom" made silverburst paul not to long ago and it still had alot of tool marks, imperfections, and just shotty glueing and ****. He just gave up, it's sad really.

Hi there,

Not sure what you mean by that but it seems you're wrong.. here I am.

As I mentioned, my favourite guitar so far is my Godin Solidac which as it happens, also is roughly Les Paul shaped. Main difference is, it can sound like a Strat, a Tele, a Les Paul and even better, all these sounds can be mixed in with the very convincing acoustic sound which means it can start to sound like a semi-acoustic as well.

Love it. Gordon.:)

I used to be a fender fanboy. Then I blew up my telecaster by mistake. Now I'm an epiphone lad, and rather enjoying it. Pretty guitars with clear tones. Semi-hollow ftw.

no no, other way around hehehe. those who can't be bothered to say more than 'gibson rules' or 'fender is best' obviously don't have a sharp clue and don't last long for the most part. no use in getting upset over their momentary outbursts.

being that i'm fairly close to Quebec i've heard tons about Godin guitars but i've never actually sat down with one, don't think i've ever heard a single person say a bad thing about them though. seems like a typical Canadian thing too, don't really appreciate something local until outsiders start praising it.
