Why should everyone know such a boring song to play like Soldier's Poem

I agree with 'Paul43 it's pretty boring.

But I think everyone DOES know Smoke On The Water, but obviously you don't HAVE to know it just most people do.

That's what I would've said... I think it's just a song that most guitarists first learn how to play. Also Smells Like Teen Spirit, every decent guitarist I've met plays that song.

Well yeah, I'm an amateur myself, it was one of the first songs that sounded easy, so I taught myself. It's emotional bondage I guess. :laughing:

I'm surprised noone has said Stairway to heaven yet. Almost every novice knows how to play atleast the beginning of it

Enter Sandman is a very easy one that most people can play. I recommend learning Master Of Puppets, its pretty good and somewhat difficult.
