I'm an 8 year guitarist and a 2 year bassist and i'll say this, you ask me, guitar was a piece of piss, learning to exceed on bass will be a great achievement in comparison...
There's so many completely different techniques on a bass you can't get with a guitar, if you really look into what wooten plays you can see that theres more to it than playing with your fingers and slapping around the frets when someone says play something impressive, if you look close enough there's a hell of a lot more to bass than most people take for granted.
