Alright, 1st of all, I'm a proficient drummer that has been involved in music for many years.:) I have also had tons of fun playing lead guitar for many years, but realized that drumming was my true passion!!!I love jamming to my favorite music styles which include metal, blues, hardrock, funk, soul, r+b, jazz, etc...
My gear includes a Tama StarClassic Performer kit in the color of transparent green.After using that for a little while, I added on a 18" Floor Tom of the same type/brand of drum.Another add on, or what I like to call a replacement, was my 12" by 5" Simon Phillips signature Tama drum.It is a handpainted, signature drum with maple wood and gold diecast rims!!!Lately, I haven't actually used any of the toms at all!!!Focusing mainly on the bass, snare and cymbals definitely brings out the talent and creativity in a drummer, including myself!!!I do have Tama's Iron Cobra hardware for my kit as well, including the PowerGlide double pedal.
My cymbals include:(all Sabian.)
1.14" AAX Metal Hats.
2.18" AAX Metal Crash.
3.18" HH Rock Crash.
4.22" HH PowerBell Ride.
5.12" AAX Metal Splash.
6.14" AAX Dark Crash.
I'm happy with my gear and love every single jam that I perform in!!!I'd recommend anyone to try to be creative like I have, by taking out all toms and focusing more on the basics...

Well I don't really get enough money to purchase my own instruments so I just use my dad's Fender Stratocaster. I also use his Mesa Boogie amp, *drooling* 30 watt glass valves

Hey man, I understand about the prices and all!!!:pimp: It's always hard to save up "that much", if ya know what I mean!!!I've saved and, overtime, got all that I wanted or need!!!
The funny thing is that, right now, I'm trying to save up for one of those nice $3,500 V-Drum sets from Roland!!!Too bad we've always gotta limit the noise because of our neighbors...
...I guess they're the one's costing me all this money, ya know?Otherwise, I got a great sounding kit and wouldn't necessarily need the Roland V-Drums, see?:drummer: :)

I was heavily into drums before my dad got his guitar, the only problem was the price. I was going to buy exactly the same drum set as you. I decided to go with a cheaper and worse drum sets. Then dad got his guitar and I decided against getting the drums, I still regret it today

Too bad, man.:( Drums are an investment and can cost alot over time, but you can obviously start off with some of the basics, ya know?Zildjian makes zbt cymbals and I'd definitely tell you not to get those because they are poor quality and sound terrible, I.M.O.Although Zildjian has the terribles zbt cymbals as their "beginner" cymbals, other brands DO actually have "beginner" cymbals that sound pretty good/professional!!!I used to use Sabian's B8 Cymbals and they actually sounded pretty good, were of high quality and didn't break!!!:clap: I only got a set of B8 cymbals that, as I can remember, contained 14" hi-hats and a 18" crash/ride.While adding on other cymbals such as my 18" AAX Metal Crash and the 22" HH PowerBell Ride, eventually my set was a complete, full professional set as far as I was concerned!!!What I'm trying to tell ya here is to start with some of the basics and, as you have enough/make more money, you'll replace the basic with "top of the line" gear!!!Obviously my 14" B8 hi-hats were replaced by my 14" AAX Metal Hats.I also replaced my 18" B8 Crash/Ride with my 22" HH PowerBell Ride!!!

I believe I told everyone just above that I haved played leadguitar, but found my true passion in the drums...

I play drums, alto saxophone, and piano. Drums are my main thing, though, and the only one I normally play with my friends, so I checked that. I'm taking a quick homework break at the moment, I'll go into more detail later.

Wild summed it up for me too, pretty much...music nourishes the body and spirit, and there's nothing better than playing it, either in a band or just by yourself.

Me, I'm a guitar player primarily, although I can play bass, West African-style percussion, and some basic drums. Been playing guitar 15 years now and am completely self-taught--I still can't read music, and rely on my ear and basic knowledge of music theory and structure. I'm not the fastest player, but I think I'm pretty good. Been playing reggae professionally for almost 12 years now too, and I've been blessed with playing with excellent bands, and having played with or for some of the heavies of that genre.

I pretty much play Fenders, although I'll get a Gibson or Epiphone sometime this year. So far, I have:

--a 1990 Fender Concord II acoustic
--a 1996 Estrada nylon-string I bought in Mexico...groovy little guitar.
--a 2001 Fender Standard Strat, modded with extra switching.
--a 2002 Fender Fat Strat, with new pickups and extra switching.
--a 2005 Fender 1960's reissue Telecaster

Amplification is through a Fender Ultimate Chorus combo amp, at 65 watts/channel (solid state amp, but very warm sounding) with footswitch. Pedals are (in order of signal chain):

Danelectro 7-band EQ
Boss Blues Driver
Dunlop Crybaby wah
Seymour Duncan decibel booster
DOD Stereo Chorus
Digitech Whammy II

This year, I'm hoping to get one of the Epiphone Bob Marley guitars, or if I'm really lucky, a Fender Jazz Bass.

i've been playing guitar for about 6 years now. i started out with a squier fat strat, playing through a fender champ 30 solid state. but once i started jamming my buddy reid (drummer) i upgraded to a line 6 spider 112. it was a cool amp for sure, but it crapped out on me after 2 weeks and took 6 months to fix, so i got fed up and bought a fender deluxe 90, boring but reliable. anyways i bought and sold pedals for it, boss metalzone distortion, boss chorus ensemble and a boss octaver. i did have a wah pedal until adam the bass playing jackass traded to some guy i don't even know. but i got rid of all those pedals when i got a marshall AVT150H halfstack, which i use to this day. i've also added a epiphone les paul studio with a seymour duncan custom pickup on the bridge, and a fender mexican tele. but for xmas last year my uncle jack gave me his yamaha 12-string acoustic. that bout sums it up.
