It had some nasty strings on it when we got it so we threw a few mandolin strings on in their place hoping they'd be similar gauge but it kind of backfired and now the strings are way too tense and it's very difficult to play / keep in tune, but I'll find some proper strings eventually. Every Phin out there has an ornate hand carved dragon headstock, it's pretty bizarre.

It's what they use to play Isaan music. The street bands in Thailand are pretty amazing. The fret spacing is odd, but think of it as an instrument where every note played on it is in a single scale. Pretty cool, no? My favorite street band video of all time, no lie, it's that amazing. btw, I've never seen an acoustic one, how the hell did some old lady get it? They only come out of Thailand.

Killer, I'll probably throw a pickup on mine eventually. The old lady literally lived in a perpetual garage sale up in a mountain community. She had no idea where it came from or the story behind it, somebody gave it to her to sell. I hope it's authentic, but there's no way to know. It's clearly hand built. No logos, sharp frets, wood glue everywhere.

I have a Jasmine S-35. I do plan on saving for an electric guitar (probably SG or Telecaster), but those are expensive and then you need an amp and if I want to vary the sound I'll need an effect pedal. GAH It's all so much!

A good bet would be to buy something like a fender mustang I, the 20 watt 8 inch version. Comes with pretty good effects built in, can be found used for 60-80 bucks or 110 new. You could then find a used MIM strat or tele which are good value. Here in Canada new gear has had a huge price increase. Like MIM strats are almost 700 bucks but the used market is still cheap. Used can be a great way to get gear. I recently traded a guitar I payed 400 for for a left handed SG standard.

after an accident that happened with my Les Paul, the neck just below the headstock became irreparably damaged.

as of now, i'm saving up to buy a new guitar as i'm gutted about my Les Paul.

as i love Les Paul guitars, this is what i'm currently saving up for.

I finally scored a new guitar, I've been in need of one with a trem and have wanted one of these DK2M's for some time now, found one in good shape and for a decent price and couldn't be happier with it.

Have owned one of these a long time ago and they are amazing. Music Man makes great guitars.

I gotta sell something to pay for this. Listings pending.
