In all honesty, didn't care for that tone. Thin and nasally.
Great playing though! |

PRS SE 22 w/stock pups, and D'Addario 10's. It's a fairly cheap guitar. I got it used for $340 from some elderly gent on a guitar forum. I guess I'm just used to it. Really though, I do need a Tele. Gimme yours. |

Funny interview with the man here: Mojocaster.com - Interview with Ron Kirn |
I've been playing with Ernie Ball Power Slinkys for the first time lately (11 - 48's) and I'm quite impressed. At this point I'm pretty sure I've played all Slinky types from Super to Beefy and Power has proven to be a nice middle ground. Thick enough to handle tuning a full step down nicely but not too thick to comfortably bend and solo with.

I've been playing piano for nearly 20 years now, on a variety of instruments, and apart from the beautiful, but impractical $10,000 Yamaha upright at my parents' house, the best keys I have played are the ones I have now - Roland F-20. If you are looking for a keyboard, fork out the extra bucks for a Roland. They're worth it.

Here's what I have, instrument-wise:
Guitars: Schecter C-1 Hellraiser Schecter C-1 FR (currently on loan to my girlfriend, who I am slowly teaching to play) Ibanez RG-7421XL (needs some TLC; previous owner sucked, gonna put a Dimarzio Liquifire/Crunchlab set in) Agile AL3010SE Mandolins: Loar LM-220 Kentucky KM-630 Harmonia (Chinese no-name) mandola (Works better than expected, but no truss rod and is difficult to play fast.) Basses: Ibanez five string... Not sure about the model. It's an SR that was in production in 1995. Brice HXB-406 Fretless SX Ursa 2 six string Woodwinds: Yamaha student clarinet that I haven't touched in forever. Recorders (Yamaha, Aulos, and Woodnote; tenor, alto, soprano, sopranino) Pennywhistles (various brands including Clarke, Generation, Susato; low to high A B♭ C D E♭ G) Transverse ocarinas (alto and soprano C) Synths: Arturia Minibrute Some cheapo 80's Casios that I'm going to circuit-bend and probably break. Percussion: 2 Darbukas (one clay, one aluminum) Meinl claves Guiro I'm stuck with practice amps right now, since I fried my Peavey Stereo Chorus and my Dean Markley DMC-80. I run my guitars through a Zoom G9.2TT effects processor, so at least I can feed that to the board. I'm not really sure what my bass amp is. It's a 1x15 combo of some sort, and it's f*cking loud. |
In celebration of forever alone day I went and got me a new guitar
http://images.epiphone.com.s3.amazon.../CH_Splash.jpg Never owned an SG before, but I'm really happy with the tone so far. Now if only my middle finger wasn't so swollen I could do a little bit more with it. |
