I've got a Yamaha-SY85 synth, which was uber-expensive and I've had it since I was about 13. Quite why my parents decided to buy me the most expensive - and heaviest - item in the music shop is beyond me. Its got lots of functions like multi-track sequencing, drum-beat programming and multi-timbral instrument thingys. None of these interest me. I like it because all of the sounds it makes are good quality and because it has quite a lot of notes, so I can bash away on the bass and trebles to my hearts content.
The keyboard is too heavy though, it takes one person's full attention to carry it, no mutlitasking with this baby. |
I just started playing guitar, but I've got a "frankenstein". For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a "homemade" guitar made from a couple of other guitars. I guess mines a Harmony/Fender I think.

why the hell is the ibanez your backup...thats a sweet looking guitar. does it not play as well as it looks? |
Quote:
It depends on what I'm playing, I like my Schecter more because it has substance and I know that it is there. It is an odd habit but if I pick up a guitar and I can feel it I won't like it. And my Schecter has a larger tone area. Plus the Ibanez needs to be fitted with some better single coils. And just as a statement I'm flat broke from all of that stuff, it sounds great but I don't think I'll be getting anything besides a Hardshell for my Schecter in the next year (I'm turning 16 this year and I want to be able to buy a junker) |

I own very cheap equipment. My guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, quite cheapy. It's got a few dings in it, which I don't mind because it's not very detailed, and in my opinion, makes it look better. I bought it used. I don't even own my own amp, though. It's my dad's. It's a 15 Watt Traynor amp. I'd like a new guitar, and my own amp.
If I get another guitar, I'm getting either a hollowbody or a Fender. My mic is an Apex850 (I do some vocals in my band). I had the cable modified at the store where I bought it. Instead of an XLR plug, the guy stuck a 1/4 male plug on it, so I can plug it into a guitar amp for our band practices, as well as a mixer for gigs. |
