Well I finally got the tone I have been hunting for the last few years. Sadly I had to go through about 5-6 amps (just the ones I owned) another 5-6 guitars (again just the ones I owned not counting all the others I borrowed and tried). While I say sadly it was actually tons of fun and Im sure ill change my setup around but no time to soon.

It is a Mahogany Strat with 2 vintage voiced cream 90's. They can do a tele sound real well for the neck and middle position as its wired just like a tele. The bridge sound very similar though to a old single bridge p90 sg special. I love this combo because I can get VERY convincing fender single coil tele/strat tones with these 90's and still crank up the gain/drive and the p90 can handle it much better than any regular strat/tele single coil. My only real problom is the hum is rather loud (louder than most singles since p90s are bigger) but I may just need some better shielding inside.

Just put switchcraft jack in as well as gfs pots/3way/tele chrome knobs. Also replaced the stock bridge with a very heavy brass block and a gfs trem/saddles, as well as gotoh style tunes. The only things I can think to upgrade now are the saddles to stainless steel and he poly nut to bone. Who knows though if that will really make that much of a difference.

The amps a Blackheart Handsome Devil 15 Watter Combo. Its basiclly modeled after an old low wattage plexi combo. Their are 2 ElL84's aand 2 12ax7 preamps tubes. While the headroom isnt that loud the cleans still sound amazing. Sadly its without reverb but for what I paid im not complaining. I also like the one channel as it has a master volume which makes playing at home quietly soooo much easier, and doesnt require a pedal. Just got the stand in tonight and I love it! Sounds much better facing my ears and not my knees.

The pedals are a rocktron wah which does the job but is certainly no Vox or Dunlop The Big muff is incredible but alas you all know what a muff sounds like, its a wonderful thing and a necessity for dooooommmmm! The best pedal I own is that Barber direct overdrive. I can set it almost exactly like a ts8/9 while also have much more gain on tap that doesnt affect the low overdrive quality. I have never heard a pedal as transparent as the barber, sounds like amp distortion and not a pedal. To give credit where its due though, its obvious they just based it off the Ibanez Tube-screamer like almost every other overdrive/gain pedal out their.

On the left side of that first picture is my old amp, a Vox Valvstate vt30. It sounds pretty good on a few settings and has great clean but the overdrive as most solid state and hybrid amps go is lacking when compared to a full tube amp. The mistake those companies make with hybrids is that its not the preamp tubes making the big difference but the power tubes. So while having even 1 million 12ax7's or whichever in your preamp section your postamp section will never overdrive itself. With that said its still a great amp, very loud, tons of quality effects, and tons of amp models to chose from. If anyone wants to buy it, or my DS-1 Boss let me know! Sorry to be so lengthy in this post as I dont mean to go on about my stuff but maybe itwill kickstart this thread a little bit as people dont really give much effort in descibing their gear. Coughcough Dave/bizzare

ps: Does anyone know of any noise free p90s that wont break the bank? The 60 cycle hum is so loud on these. Also the speaker is 16 ohms and the back has place to plug in 2 4ohms 2 8ohms and 1 16ohm. If I wanted to attatch a 2x12 cab rated at 8 ohms would I plug the onboard speaker and the cab into the 4 or 8 ohm slots?

No offense guy but you just named about every style of music you could get gear for. Maybe be a little more specific.

Quite frankly, learn to spell, seriously dude it's Led Zeppelin, you missed 2 letters in the name of the most quintessential classic rock band ever. If you're serious about doing it for a living you're going to need to market yourself like a business. That does not necessarily mean you have to reduce your creativity or band to a product but it does mean you need to be able to present yourself professionally to possible contacts and collaborators.

The old adage of "Who you know counts for more than what you know" is rarely truer than in the entertainment field. How you chose to present yourself is going to be a huge factor in how people that know who you are remember you.

The first impression you provide with your comment here is that of a drunk kid with big dreams and little else. Also just what do you mean by wanting to 'make it into music'? It can be very different things to different people. Some are happy making just enough to get by without having to rely on a day job, others want to tour the world and bang groupie like they're in Nickelback.

I can't help reading that with a thick broken English / Eastern European accent. There's also just something that seems 'right' when comparing groupies to fish hahaha

Why was this moved? It has no reason being in this section of the forum.
