One of the main problems with solid state amps is the fact that companies try so hard to make them sound like tube amps. There could be some great potential in solid state amps, but people are pretty damn obsessed with keeping that tube sound.

And a peddle will NEVER sound as good as the sound breaking up on its own. Maybe in 100 years I will be proven wrong, but I figure everyone will be playing laptops by that point.

I currently play guitar but I can also play the bass. I've only been playing the guitar for one and a half years but I'm in a band. (as the guitarist and singer)
I currently own an Epiphone SG G400 (Personally I hate it.) And I own a Boss GT-5 multi effects processor for the guitar. (Love it.) I only own a Crate GX15 amplifier however when practising I use a Fender Frontman as our drummer owns one. |

I can set up my guitar pretty well but do not have the tools to cut and shim nuts. I took my nut in and they didnt do a very good job because im still having tons of problems despite having it intonation nearly perfectly. It is so god damned frustrating. I am afraid im going to have to get a new nut and pay them the 40 bucks to cut a new one.

I'm thinking about cutting one exactly like the one I have on my guitar right now as blanks (2) only cost a couple of bucks, and I have a pretty good guide as to how to where to cut. Fender Nut Blanks for Vintage Strat / Tele: Shop Accessories & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend Guitars are pretty damn irritating when it comes to intonation. I know I've been pretty pissed when trying to get it to sound in tune up the neck, but it's in pretty good shape right now (thank god). |

Found my old clarinet in the closet yesterday. I remember that this was the instrument I wanted to play in school, before I switched to the flute. My dad bought this clarinet for me (he had something against renting one from the school), and he was quite mad when I decided I didn't like it and wanted to switch to flute. I don't blame him - he paid almost $1,000 for it!
