Incorporating various styles into our playing is rather a good thing, ain't it? |

Congrats on your new Tele, Mucha (and Marie!). Good to see other Tele fans here. Mine is a Squier Classic Vibe Tele, at left (and Guild M-120 acoustic, right).

I couldn't let my PRS just sit under all the drywall and insulation, it means too much to me, so I dug through it all and rescued it. It's been cooked a bit but I'm gonna break it all down and see if I can restore it.
Where it was: https://i.imgur.com/7WC0q3Q.png How I felt when I pulled it from the carnage: https://i.imgur.com/o0UNtcA.gif https://i.imgur.com/PuCJ1b0.jpg?1 You can see the pitting in the hardware from the heat. I may change those tuners out for some lockers, and the bridge needs some TLC. The frets will have to be either sanded or replaced as well. I'm thinking just a bit of fine grit will get rid of the slight pitting. It cooked a bit, but not enough to melt the truss cover, so thats a good sign. I haven't even checked the internals yet, but since they were down low to the ground, I'm guessing they're ok: https://i.imgur.com/1fDSiTL.jpg?1 I gave these to my daughter, since I need to scale down my collection a bit. They need to air out, then a thorough dry micro-fiber wipe down: https://i.imgur.com/2QmcpYw.jpg?1 My Carvin DC127 was saved since it was in the case in a closet. It still smells like a campfire: https://i.imgur.com/vmffktH.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/g3iaUuP.jpg?2 The rest of my guits have been scattered across the local area to friends and neighbors. Early Xmas for my brethrens. I have to say, getting my PRS back, albeit in somewhat decent condition and not in pieces like my Dean Uke, was like a small ray of sunshine in this bleak scenario. I'm so glad I said **** it and decided to dig it out. It weighed on my mind heavily. |

That pick of "Taking it out of the flames" really cuts deep

Thanks Mucha. I fell in love with that guitar the moment I picked it up, and it was a 'sight unseen' purchase from an elderly fellow on a guitar forum called JamSession that's not around anymore. I trusted him completely though, since we had been online friends for quite a while. He was losing his abilities and he wanted me to have it.
That Tele you have is pretty sweet. Ribbons' too. A while back I was GAS'in for a Tele from DNA Guitars, but I never pulled the trigger. |
I have Sire P7 bass, Sire L7 electric guitar and I want to buy A3 acoustic guitar (from the same Sire). It will be my "Full family"

Been playing guitar for 13 years now. I usually play fender amplifiers, i own a fender deluxe reverb and a copy of a fender deljxe amp, i sometimes play them in stereo mode dry/wet. I'm addicted to pedals so i have lots ant i think i should at least start to make them by myself, because im broke, but i always need them :D

Trumpet/EVI (Electric Valve instrument)
Hey folks! I've been playing trumpet for about 20 years, a good old Bach Stradivarius 37. In fall of 2020 though, I got myself an EVI (NuEVI to be exact, by Swedish manufacturer Berglund Instruments). If you haven't heard of it, it's a crazy synth trumpet that resembles the three-valve system of a trumpet. It's also the less famous cousin of the EWI (sax version).
Would be awesome to find other people who also plays one of these things! I do have an example of how I use it, with my jazz fusion band Paradise League. Heavily inspired by Japanese jazz fusion I wrote a song called 'Acrobat' with the EVI in mind. The title pays homage to sax/EWI player Masato Honda and his song 'Athlete'. Me and my group recorded a live session video of 'Acrobat', that can be seen on YouTube (search for "Paradise League" and it should be pretty far up). If you've got some fusion ants in your pants, go check it out! Would be fun to chat about/discuss the instrument, its sound or just the music in general. And of course, everything Japanese jazz fusion! Cheers! |
We have a musical family, if you can call it one. I play guitar, my husband plays drums in his own band.

But you don't play together? :)

So I finally got around to learning guitar last year during COVID lockdowns. Bought myself an acoustic, found a teacher (initially over Zoom, now in person), practised every day that I could. Today I picked up a Stratocaster. It's a Squier, it's as old as I am, and it's in need of new strings and a setup. But it still feels like Christmas :D

I've been off and on the violin since I was six. It has a pick-up amplifier that admittedly I barely used when playing. I play the piano and recently moved to a Casio CDP-S100 rather than a standard piano. I love playing with the electric piano voices.

Def Drums since I used to play them.....

I've been playing guitar for 4 years now, and the first reason I got into guitar was purely because I was bored, and then I followed the advice of my online friends and got my first guitar: Yamaha's FG800. Because I had no prior knowledge of the subject, I started with the basics of music, and then I learned guitar techniques through various guitar lessons on YouTube. It's been 4 years now, and although I'm not as good as those guitarists who play great, I can still hold my own as a personal talent.

I'm a huge fan of the ukulele and have been playing it for a few years now. It's a small and lightweight instrument that's perfect for traveling or playing on the go. I love the sound it produces, which is both mellow and cheerful at the same time. One of the best things about the ukulele is that it's relatively easy to learn, making it a great instrument for beginners. I'm constantly discovering new techniques and songs to play on the ukulele, which keeps me motivated and inspired.

i've been playing guitar on and off for about 18 years and impulse bought a nice looking les paul a little while back and i can't put it down
i recently moved to a new city and only brought what could fit in my little car, and that meant i didn't bring any instruments outside of a usb midi keyboard and i miss my guitars back home every day but i'm hoping to make it back to get them soon! i'm finding all kinds of new inspiration and am really into playing funk and city pop style music even though my roots are in punk & rock |
