the trem system is actually great. you can yank and dive as much as you want and it wont go out of tune. really changing the strings is pretty easy...in fact...i find it easier than changing strings on a normal guitar. but you have to tune in a certain way or else it will never go into tune. you have to tune e - e - a - b - d - g. like..from outside to inside, to preven the tension of the lower strings from throwing off the higher strings, and vice versa. its annoying, but once its done the guitar wont go out of tune. they also give the guitar a little bit of added sustain, which is nice.

They can't be customized by the buyer, but Schecter will make specials for certain occasions like the C1 Exotic

Alembic
I have always wanted a custom made 'Alembic Bass Guitar', (I wish I could come across the Alembic Bass that Stanley Clark had stolen out of his car in New York City, a long time ago). Ive owned Fender jazzs,4&5 strings, percisions, Gibsons, etc. but 'Alembic', would be my dream Bass.

The Alembic is really 'old school', and at a very high end cost$ The Rick is an outstanding bass guitar, but also, it can cost from the mid to high end when buying one. You could get a 5-string Ibenez for around 400 to 600$ that will basically stand up with the others. until you can get what you really want for yourself as a bass guitar, thats if you are basically a beginner at playing bass guitar.

There is also the HUGE difference in price, Rickenbacker's should set you back at least double what an Ibanez would... |
