Default Guitar Recs

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a new guitar around xmas as a little gift to myself. My current guitar is a Casino Stage series for $200 but I literally cannot find any record of it existing on the internet (Its red and black). It just sounds twangy and weird. I'm real into hard rock but like Jimmy Page type solos yk. I heard Gretsch and Ibanez were good for that but idk which guitar specifically. Been playing a little over a year but i'm doing alright i think for where im at. Guitars the one thing i really love so im looking for a guitar with nicer sound to motivate me a little. The price range has to be around $500-$900 cause I'm not rich by any means. Any suggestions?

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

It's great that you're looking to upgrade your guitar for a more motivating playing experience. In your price range of $500-$900, you have some excellent options for hard rock and classic rock styles like Jimmy Page's. Both Gretsch and Ibanez have models that could suit your needs. Here are some recommendations:

Ibanez:

Ibanez RG Series: These guitars are known for their fast necks and versatile tones. The RG series is perfect for hard rock and soloing. Look for models like the Ibanez RG450DX or RG6003, which offer great value for the price.

Ibanez S Series: The S series guitars are lightweight and comfortable with a thin body design. The Ibanez S670QM is a popular option within your budget and offers great playability.

Gretsch:

Gretsch Streamliner: The Gretsch Streamliner series is known for its affordability and excellent playability. The G2622 Streamliner is a good option for rock styles, and it's within your budget.

Gretsch Electromatic Series: The Electromatic series offers a range of guitars, and the G5425 Jet Club is worth considering for hard rock tones. It has a classic Gretsch look and can handle overdrive and distortion well.

Remember that you should try out these guitars in person if possible, to see which one feels most comfortable and sounds best to your ears. Guitar choice can be a very personal decision. It's also essential to consider the amplifier and effects you're using, as they can significantly influence your tone. If you have a chance, try the guitars with your own setup in a local music store.

Additionally, don't forget to factor in the cost of a setup by a professional luthier or technician, as a well-set-up guitar can greatly improve playability and tone. Happy shopping, and I hope you find a guitar that inspires and motivates you to continue your musical journey!
