This seems to suggest that would work:

How do I connect my piano to a computer?

"You can also use dedicated MIDI sockets, but since most computers don’t include MIDI ports themselves, you will probably need to use an adapter or USB-MIDI cable."

Well thank you. I think that this cable can do what i need

I was uncertain about the IN OUT (midi-usb) cable.
I mean is that correct? It needs to be (MIDI=IN) and (USB=OUT)?

As I understand it, you don't need to worry about where it says in/out on the cable. It should be able to go which ever way it needs to, since it's a MIDI signal.

Should you want to buy an external soundcard that has midi in, they're generally cheap on the used market. Something small like a NI Komplete Audio 6 might suit you.
