Default Drone

Hi.

I'm a French Horn player, well I guess it doesn't matter what instrument one plays for this question but here it is.

I use Sibelius but was wondering if anyone out there has another good idea for creating a chord drone? One of my warmups involves simple slow arpeggios throughout a few octaves and descending chromatically. What I want is a drone on the root in the same key of the arpeggio.

I can do it in Sibelius but just wondering if anyone has any ideas with a simple "tuner-like" app. For Windows 10 that is.

Thanks.

Not sure how to do it with an app. But very easy to do with a DAW. In Sibelus just find the root note, and notate it as long as you possibly can. If it repeats it will still sound good but you really want a never ending note. I've worked with drones in music before and typically you want to use a bass note. High end drones work but don't sound as droney.

Oh and chord drones, just notate the chord and have it held for as long as possible.
Thats pretty much it, drones are pretty easy to do.

If you want to make 'drones' ask DeadMau5. He's the king of using creating / using drones. I'm sure you'll find something on Youtube.
