Amplify my electronic drums? powered active speaker?
Hi, I'm interested in buying a powered active speaker to uses with my Roland Octopad (Electronic drum pad) and my Korg Volcas.
I want it for small performances like at Cafes or maybe busking at fairs (sometimes with a folk band of guitar, violin and mandolin). I would like to hopefully get something I can also use to play music at small parties if possible but that is not the main priority. I understand I need something that does the low end well enough for the bass drum from either my volca's or octopad and also managing the high end well. More than one channel is preferred but I suppose I could eventually purchase a small mixer if I wanted to include vocals but for now I would prefer a single speaker over a PA package. I have been looking at the Behringer B112D 12" Powered Active Speaker (approx. $400-420 AUD.) and the Yamaha DBR10 700W Powered 10″ PA Speaker (I can find retailers selling for $530 - 560 $AUD) Inexpensive is preferable as I'm a student but I want to make sure I buy good quality that lasts. The Yamaha has better reviews and I do like the fact that the Yamaha has an RCA input. But I was wondering if the value is worth it for the extra ~$AUD140. (keeping in mind I would prefer only spending less than $450 if I'm not sacrificing too much value) Any other recommendations are welcome (eg: keyboard amp/ electronic drum amp) Thanks so much |
