Default Amps

What amps do you guys have and/or want?

At the moment I've got a crappy 15-watter but I'm getting a Marshall AVT 100 in 'bout ten weeks, when I've got the cash.....

i play out of an old 70s 200w peavey centurion head and a RAM fiberglass 4x10 cab. the thing weighs a ton, but it could fall out the back of a truck going down the freeway and still be in one piece. I havent seen another cab like it ever. picked it up for $250 at a used guitar shop. ITS FIBERGLASS!!!!

ya, it was a good deal, too good to pass up. I paid somewhere around $450 for the cab and head.

For my bass rig, I want to get an additional 4x10 cab (GK 410SBX) and a larger head unit (GK 700RB-II). My current setup is the GK 115SBX and a Beheringer BX3000T head. Its suprisingly loud for just one 15" speaker.

Ya.... well the AVT series from Marshall is awesome cos it gives you heaps of power and its also got the built in effects like reverb, delay, chorus etc... as well as the distortion with three channels on the 100 watt and above... pretty good for US$820......

check it here: http://www.marshallamps.com/product....uctCode=AVT100

she may look small but she delivers.....

^ Looks pretty good. I haven't been overly impressed by Marshall though. I think you just end up paying for a name. Maybe I'm wrong though. It just seems like a status symbol to me.

yeah, i know a lot of guys that feel that, and perhaps it is partially for the symbol but i've tried it out in the store and i just really like the range i can get from it, specially with the built in effects.... also, i want that power without having to lug round a cab with me to gigs etc...

^ Well, if it puts out good tone and high volume then its awesome. Alot of people use Marshall so it has to be at least somewhat good. I just think they are *slightly* overpriced...
