I once met someone who was using a Novation Mini Nova...It's quite a compact little thing, but the sound from it is absolutely incredible.
I remember looking at it, thinking it'd sound like a regular synth; and, it likely had something to do with the fact he was recording, and therefore punched through some NS-10s, but the sound was very very BIG. I think they retail for about £300 or something. |

Not sure of the best, but personally I use the MicroKorg. Soundbank-wise, its collection is pretty sick for performance, and if you have a soundcard with MIDI-IN you can connect the MicroKorg to your Soundcard and thus use it as a MIDI controller.

Idk what thread to put this **** in but who digs Sequencer and Tracker aka MIDI music around here?
Think video game soundtracks and the like and stuff that was created using those soundfonts or similar. For example check out this sick shi
