What's your live setup and what style do you play?
Mine is quite humble so far: DS1, Digital Delay, Chorus Ensamble, and Crybaby (Wah-Wah). At times I wonder whether I should get hold of some comfy pedalboard or not: easier to carry when there's no longer a car in your life

PRS, or Schecter to HD500 to (crappy) Line-6 75w through Line-6 4x10 (top stack), and early 90's Crate 4x12 (bottom stack).
My style is pretty much Metal oriented, but I can get some nice cleans and blues-ey stuff from my HD500 too. It pretty much drives my sound, but a lot of tone is in the fingers as well. Here's an example of a BB King style I did over a BT: SoundClick artist: PRD Ideas - page with MP3 music downloads I've been wanting to upgrde my amp for some time now.

The HD500 will get you where you want to go but, and there is a big but here... the sound quality will not be as good as some of the boutique pedals, and to some the difference really matters. It's more for convenience for me, since I'm not out playing arena's, just bars and parties. Take a look into one, try one out, see for yourself. As they say, "Your Mileage May Vary".

Yeah, I reckon you're right... besides, I live in a small flat, so whenever I record I have to resort to my old Digitech RP12 and the headphones. If I were to use my boutique pedals (my beloved orange DS1 for instance) and the mic and Marshall, my neighbours would break into my place and slaughter me on the spot.
