Studio speakers - what are some good brands?
 

I need to get some 'studio speakers' -I guess that's what they are called. Speakers for playing back recorded music. But, I don't know anything about studio speakers, so I don't know what kind I need or anything.

What would you recommend? What are some good brands?

I'm using Yamaha HS80M. A lot of people use them as they really good and reasonably cheap.

KRK are great, but a little more expensive.

Bose, and Polk Audio are a couple of quality names.

Lots of people use Genelecs, I have a pair of Dynaudio.

Dynaudio is rather nice, altough I've never heard monitors perform better than Genelecs. They are just epic. Especially the older (square ;)) ones

Why is there no JBLs on the list?

Genelec and cheap in the same sentence? The 1029A are like $1,200 a pair.

To save starting a new thread, can anyone recommend some half decent speakers? Will be used with my laptop. I usually listen to music on my headphones but currently listening on some shit Logitech speakers and only the right speaker is working.

Budget - £40 max.
