FLAC sounds identical to WAV. WAV sounds identical to CD.

I'd rip the discs to WAV using Freerip and then convert them to flac using the official FLAC software or probably DBPoweramp (which is great software if you ask me. It converts really everything).
VLC media player plays flac, winamp plays flac, foobar plays flac.
VLC mediaplayer plays pretty much everything by the way.
