Looking for Mp3 player...
Hi Friends
Can you please help me? I want to buy mp3 player to gift it to some one. It needs to be stylish and attractive with awesome sound quality(heavy bass). Long lasting battery backup and need to be light weight. So please recommend me the website where I can check out good quality mp3 player and purchase it. |

Apple - Play music and more on iPod.
Zune digital media players | Zune.net - Zune MP3 players The obvious two. Is there a price range? |

I would go with an iPod Touch. They're very stylish, and the sound quality isn't too bad (it has built in speaker), but it's great with headphones. Plus, they range in capacities. 8gb, 16gb, etc. I have one myself, and it's most definitely worth it.

The iPod (sorry again, xEMGx, I don't do this on purpose ;D) is in my opinion, along with the Sony ATRAC players, the worst sounding 'serious' (read: 50 dollars and up) Mp3 player.
They sound thin and sharp. They work brilliantly, but there's a little apple on it so they're really very expensive. I wouldn't buy an iPod myself. Love playing with them, but I prefer other brands. Pretty much any other brand. The best sounding mp3 player I've heard is an old Rio Karma. But you can't get those anymore

Geez, you are really picky about evrything. They are expensive because they do so much. (iPod Touch at least)
To be honest, I have never heard an mp3 player, sounding different than another. Unless it's one of those crappy usb mp3 player that are $10. I mean, doesn't it really depend on the quality of the mp3 itsself, not the mp3 player? |

Then why would the cheap ass ones sound different?
Headphone amp matters, build quality matters, even the software matters (windows media player sounds different from Winamp too, with the EQ set to flat). Don't forget that there's actually a small sound card in every mp3 player. There's a difference between sound cards too. The cheap 10 dollar sound cards do sound a lot worse than the expensive 100 dollar ones. Same goes for mp3 players. You should really compare three mp3 players sometime if you can. It's not like I'm some mutated lifeform able to hear everything. It's just that I care. And by listening a lot I can now hear rightaway whether it sounds good or bad, but it's not like you can't hear the difference when you compare. It's actually really big. The iPod sounds ratherthinnish with a lack of mid, the (at least the older) Sony Mp3 players have boosted high frequencies and I must say that my experience with most Creatives is pretty good so far. Try and see. You will hear the difference .

Well, quite frankly, my ear drums must be pretty f'ed up by the blasting of music through earbuds, so I might not be able to hear it. Whenever I listen to a song, I set the EQ to that song to see which sounds best on the iPod itself, and then save it. Not sure if that makes a difference, or maybe I'm not as picky, and don't care about the sound being perfect, I just want the music to go through my ears and to my brain, so I could rock the **** out. Whether it be on a $400 iPod, or a $100 Creative, it sounds the same to me.

If you don't care, why should you care that I care?
