Good quality non-isolating earbuds?
 

So I decided my Sennheiser HD280's were a little much for my listening pleasure at work. I've decided to go earbud. I want decent quality but I also want it to be non-isolating (which is key) so I can still hear what is going on around me. Don't worry about price, I just want a general direction to look in...anyone got any ideas?

For the longest time I only bought JVC Gumy earbuds. From what I remember they are non-isolating and are pretty comfortable because they are rubber coated. They come in all different colours as well. The Bose Triports are excellent for what you're referring too. They're kinda pricey, but they're designed in such a way were you can easily hear a person talking to you as they rest in your ear canals. It's like listening to a stereo loud as someone is talking to you. The sound quality is among the best.

I've considered Bose, but I have stayed away until now just because I hear they are overpriced. I'll check them out, though...I'm an audiophile when it comes to the sound quality of my music and I listen to music pretty much 6 out of the 8 hours I spend at work. I mentioned above I have kick ass studio monitors at home, but that obviously won't work too well when I'm out and about.

If you decide to stick to ear canal buds, go with one that has a J-style cable which are more convenient if you want to pop the buds out, and let them dangle around the back of your neck to speak to someone. Also check out the recommendations I made for sub $100 cans.
