Yea, Technics 1200's are the standard for vinyl DJ turntables. They're pretty expensive though.
Numark has a pretty good line and are a lot cheaper than Technics, but they're nowhere near the tanks Technics are.

DJWesty, you're only trying to buy one? What do you currently have?
You should be advised that if you're planning on mixing, you should have two of the same turntables because the direct drive motor speed and torque in different turntables can vary and that can be a huge problem depending on your mixing style.
