Fruity Loops Studio
Does anyone use FL Studio to make music? I have use it a bit but I would like to start using it more.
It's fun to play with, I wanted to make a Christmas album that sounded like Joy Division, but I got lazy.
oh wow that would be awesome, you should do it
I am too picky about my sounds, kinda hard.
yeah there are a lot of sounds in the program but a lot of which I dont like or dont sound nice
It's fun just to mess around with. I hardly ever make anything particularly musical.
yeah i used it for a while, its pretty awesome for techno/dance songs. i never used it for rock songs. i got a mac and used garageband :P
yeah I would like to use it but i cant seem to ever get anything good out of it

If you like the way a Mac looks (and looks are about the only thing about it) so much then you can get a Linux/Mac/Windows and be happy with all of em. personally I'm happy using my PC. |
Fruity Loops works very well for most styles of music. I've been using it for about five years now and I've gotten some great results.

The problem with Fruity Loops is that it doesn't really lend itself to a recording solution. I can't imagine a scenario where one would be able to record and produce a song with instruments and vocals and everything entirely in Fruity Loops.
Obviously, FL isn't even marketed to that, so no points deducted there. But I like the option of being able to do anything in one program, and do it professionally. Which is why Sonar 7/8 PE stomps the hell out of FL every time. |
Agreed, FL is limited, but what a cool little peice of software it is. I've got some rather surprising results from it.
Also, Freebase, your sig is awesomeness. |
I hear the Crank Dat/Superman whatever it is beat by Soulja Boi was made on fruity loops, I believe it.
Most of my friends in I guess the local hip-hop "scene" here use it to some extent. I can just never get the darn thing to work so I'm stuck with scouring the internet for my loops.
Can you guys help me? I want to record live instruments onto FL studio, but I can't make the mic work. I've followed some youtube videos and none of them helped me. I plug my mic into a small mic port on the side of my laptop, then in Fl studio I open up the mixer (Asio4all is activated) and select my mic. It shows that no sound is being picked up.
