Oh crap, I just re-read his post and realized I missed the key point "live, with about 10 inputs at the same time."
For some reason I thought he was planning to just record himself on each instrument.

What is your specific scenario? Are you recording your band who are all going to be playing at the same time?
As Musicophile brought up, if you're going to be using 10 microphones simultaneously, you're going to need 10 preamps on 10 individual channels.
I'd assumed you were only recording yourself, in which case the interface would work in that scenario.

Another way you could do it is record each instrument individually, in which case you wouldn't need all 10 simultaneous channels - which is what I thought you were wanting to do - but I'm not sure exactly what your situation is anymore.
