audacity is the program i use to record .... anything i need to record i guess =P but i dont have a good mixing program yet. im installing the linux multi media now, i hope it helps... if you have any other sugestions for mixing progs. please let me know ^^

Audacity is pretty dang basic! Cubase LE comes free with a bunch of different firewires and you can pick it up for about $15 on ebay.

wallah these programs should all be together, if you download some of them they would make a decent free audio editing program when used together

Yeah, Audacity had some cool stuff when I first got it, but you can really only do so much with it. Beggars can't be choosers, I guess.
