Need Amp for multiple-genre usage

I've narrowed it down to two so far

Behringer 180 Watt Workstation BX1800

-and-

Fender BXR200 Combo (175 Watt)

Both are combo, both have one 15" speaker

I've tested the Fender in-store and the Behringer would be shipped to me online if I choose either

The Fender is 265 with tax and the Behringer is 250 with free shipping

Ideas?

(I play a wide variety of things, mostly video game music and metal atm)

the style is less of a consideration than the type of instruments you plan on running through the amp.

as far as being a combo, the only real benefit you have is size and ease of transportation. it's not like you can swap out or upgrade components later on. they're very much one trick ponies in a sense.

where they're both bass amps you'll be fine for the low end but some of your highs might not come out as clearly. a keyboard amp is generally better suited for real multipurpose use.

take a look at this for a good multipurpose combo.

Roland U.S. - KC-550: Stereo Mixing Keyboard Amplifier

lots more features, multiple stereo channel inputs, multiple stereo outputs, it's a real workhorse. you can use it on it's own or as a power source within a larger sound system too. might be a little pricier but it seems like a much more versatile unit. if the price is too high they also have a 350 model that might be nicer to your pocketbook.
