Laser Turntable "ELP"
Okay... as a vinyl lover my mouth is watering at the thought of this. They've actually been around for a while but they are not mass produced. The turntable has 5 lasers that detect the bumps in the grooves of a record. So not only does it not wear out the record (nor do you have to worry about replacing needles)... it also reads deeper into the groove than a stylus could ever get. Sounds like the ultimate analog listening experience to me. Unfortunately they are still in the range of 10-20,000 dollars. Hopefully with the success of vinyl as of late someone will start mass producing them and the price will fall drastically. I'm dying to hear one of these things!
