Field mic. (mic, Computer, expensive)

Hey so I'm just wondering if anyone would have any recommendations for a not too expensive portable mic that has decent sound quality so's that I can record any cool sounds I come across and put them on my computer for mixing and whatnot.

how expensive are you thinking? ive been looking into the same thing but it doesnt seem like you can get anything too good for under 400 dollars... i have my eye on this sony pcm-d50 but its like 500 bucks

Yeah I was thinking somewhere within $250 but like you said I couldn't really find anything for that much.
And I have my sight on a doublekick for my drumkit now instead.
