WHat kind of uses recording or live? Hard to get one amp to do everything. I have a mesa/boogie, a marshall, a traynor basemate (killer canadian tube amp), maximouse portable amp and a crappy peavy combo. Each one has its use and I am looking for more. I also have a a couple of guitar preamps which are a great way to get a sound quickly I have the Line 6 pod and the marshall JMP1 (which sounds great) Amps I would love to have: A 80s vintage Hiwatt, Vox ac30 and more marshalls. |

Which isn't a bad thing, you might be able to pick u a half stack if not then dont be afraid to go for a combo. They are loud enough and theres no difference in sound. I never understand why people are so obsessed with going half stack.

Usually with amps what happens it a manufacturer will get a reputation for a particular model and then they will start pumping out amps with lower quality components after the initial production run. This can be said for practically all of the major manufacturers like fender, marshal etc. The boutique manufaturers like boogie and orange tend to use better quality parts on all their stuff. |
