I’ve used the Shure MV7, and I really liked it because it’s such a versatile microphone. I could use it for singing during performances and get great sound quality. Similarly, I found it to be excellent for recording, consistently delivering a clean and professional sound. Hi wanderingwombat! First of all I would suggest you to buy an tube mic. The tube mics from the middle class prices will perform much better, with much warmer and natural sound, not so hyped highs. Avantone, T Bone and MXL have good tube mics, inexpensive with decent quality.
