I'm still not clear on something. Daniel Cormier beat Anthony Johnson to win the vacant Light-Heavyweight belt @ UFC 187. Defended it twice. Lost to Jon Jones, but had the loss overturned when Jones pissed dirty, so Cormier was still champ. He defended it again, then challenged Stipe Miocic for the Heavyweight belt, and won that too, and defends that tomorrow night.
Jon Jones will rematch Alexander Gustafsson for the LHW belt soon. Why did the UFC strip Cormier of the LHW belt? It seems like they let Conor McGregor parade around as a dual champ forever before they stripped him. |
