No it's not a trouncing but it's still early in the competition. Germany weren't great at the start of the last World Cup and look what happened.
Sure, but given that Spain drew with Portugal (a far superior team to Iran, let's be honest here) 3-3, to only beat the Islamics by one goal was pretty poor I feel. U Are Gay just didn't seem bothered. Look at the last few minutes of the first half: as they said on RTE commentary, they were playing it out as if it was the end of the match and all they had to do was retain the ball. There was another 45 minutes plus yet to go, and still they were acting as if the game was over. Bo-ring.

Maradona Exclusive: Lack of support for Messi could trouble Argentina against Croatia

Maradona called the Iceland result a "disgrace" and warned coach Jorge Sampaoli he would not be able to return to Argentina with similar performances. Adding to the sense of disappointment, Messi's missed penalty was accompanied by 11 unsuccessful shots, the most in a World Cup game without return by a single player since Italy's Luigi Riva in 1970.
"I said before Argentina's opening match that Iceland wouldn't be easy opponents. The debutants were expected to defend with all their might and they did. But I was still expecting Leo Messi & Co to pull it off. If you want the trophy, you should be able to break this kind of resistance. It was disappointing to see their performance," Maradona added.

Police in Colombia have launched an investigation into a series of online death threats made against Carlos Sánchez, who was sent off only three minutes into his country’s opening World Cup game.

In a chilling reminder of the murder of Andrés Escobar, who was gunned down days after scoring an own goal for Colombia at the 1994 World Cup, several social media users have targeted the former Aston Villa midfielder with vile messages threatening his life.

Argentina really under the pump here. It's time for Messi to show why TopLads rate him so highly.

Feel a bit tense.

Like before the Villa play in a derby game.

Come on Leo
