i like Yaya as a player but he does seem to always be full of excuses.

i’m sure by african he’s referring to players hailing directly from africa but i have a hard time believing someone would be that racist towards africans yet play black players from other nations quite regularly.

The Africans Pep has dropped/got rid of were old, crap or not needed. If they were good they'd play. Never understood making this argument in football.

Toure is bitter.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-04-2018 12:30 PM

except selling Sammy Eto’o. he was in charge when he left Barca, right?

was a monster in his prime. even in the last few years he’s put up ridiculous numbers for his age in the turkish league.

Yeah Eto'o is the only one that might not fit into that group but I'd still say Pep got it right in the end and that Toure is bitter.

Which team are you following Q? England/Belgium/Argentina?

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-09-2018 09:13 AM

mainly england and belgium, yeah.

going to try and catch as many brazil/argentina/france games as i can just because i think they are the front runners to win it, but they all have pretty boring groups so we will see.

Do you feel like you're missing it a bit if Canada aren't there?

Euro 2008 doesn't even seem like it happened to me, I cannot remember a single game even though I watched it.

Suppose that's one positive of expanding the tournament to 48 teams. It would be good for more fans to be able to see their teams play.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-09-2018 11:36 AM

no because ive never seen canada do anything but lose. it might come off as just being a bitter fan, but i tend to not care how we do. even if we do make a major tournament by some miracle we just get absolutely smashed. maybe the day will come where we can actually field a decent 11, but until that day i won't lose any enjoyment over it.

Fair enough. Hopefully they can improve and make it for 2026.

These @England fans are heading to the #WorldCup to support both their team and Russia’s #LGBT community
